How does it work?
The drug Mylicongas® belongs to the category of drugs indicated for the treatment of functional disorders of the intestine. It has antifoam properties and acts against abdominal pain, meteorism, cramps, belching and flatulence.
The product is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and does not interfere in any way with the absorption of nutrients. It does not modify the volume and acidity of gastric secretions and does not interfere with nutrition.
The active principle of Mylicongas®, simethicone, is a polymer which is usually intertwined but is activated by the presence of silica aerogel which gives it its antifoaming power. Thanks to its properties, simethicone acts by lowering the surface tension and this particular action allows the air bubbles present in the intestine to burst and easily eliminate the free gas.
Dosage and method of use
As far as the dosage is concerned, the following must be observed. The recommended dose of the product is 4 tablets per day.
Mylicongas® is not suitable for pediatric use but is indicated only for the adult population ( Mylicon® drops are used for children ). To obtain the best beneficial effects, it is recommended to take 2 tablets at the end of each main meal, i.e. four tablets a day. The tablets must be chewed as they are chewable tablets. The drug cannot be considered a substitute for a varied and healthy diet , in some cases the diet can cause digestive problems. Eating properly reduces the risk of digestive problems and discomfort caused by gas accumulation.
