Trifluoperazine: what it is and what the name of Max Gazze’s band comes from

The first eveningof the Sanremo Festivalhas, as every year, amazed and amused. However, there is one word that has caught the attention of many: Trifluoperazine.
In fact, to accompany the performance of the Roman singer in the raceMax Gazzèis an unknown band with a rather bizarre nickname, in which the word Trifluoperazine appears. Butwhat is itandwhere doesthisname come from?

Around theTrifluoperazina Monstery banda real case had been created: when announced together with the singer, no one knew what it was and who the members were. During the first evening, however, everything was clear and the only doubt left is to understand whatTrifluoperazine is. So let’s go deeper into the issue.

What is Trifluoperazine?

Trifluoperazine belongs tothe chemical class ofphenothiazines, i.e. organic compounds with antipsychotic abilities used mainly for the treatment ofschizophrenia. However, these drugs can also be used to treat mild anxiety.

In general we can say that this treatment is suitable for the manifestations of psychotic disorders, such asstates of anxiety, tension and agitation that are observed inneurosesor associated with somatizations.

Trifluoperazine has several side effects and for this reason can only be sold witha prescription. It can in fact be associated with the appearance of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, it can trigger uncontrolled muscle movements, lower the number ofplatelets, reduce the response time of our body to infections, increase the sensitivity of the skin to the sun, inducedrowsinessand fatigue and alter the results of different analyzes. Also after administration of this compound may occur dry mouth, skin reactions and amenorrhea.

The intake of trifluoperazine is contraindicated in subjects suffering from severe drowsiness, reduced bone marrow function, blood disorders and liver damage; It is also to be avoided the intake together with large quantities of alcohol and drugs that already cause drowsiness.

Trifluoperazine Monstery band: who is composed of Max Gazzè’s band

The Trifluoperazine Monstery band is not made up of real musicians:Max Gazzè brought a series of cartoons of very famous characters to the stage of Sanremo 2021, with the name of a band that derives from an antipsychotic substance used for the treatment of psychotic illnesses. On the other hand, the song with which the Roman singer is competing has the title ofPharmacist and therefore the connection is soon made.

It’s a way to reflect, but also to try to laugh in this difficult period in which politics and healthcare have mixed too much, these are the words with which Max Gazzè presented his song; therefore an ironic but reflective song that mixes medical advice with biting political satire.

In the song, the singer talks to the woman he loves and tries to hide, without much success, his disappointment with those who say they have the truth in their pocket for everything. Max makes fun of this category of know-it-alls, showing how in a period of such great confusion it is enough to mix a few ingredients, just like the pharmacist does, to appear as the solver of every problem.

All the drugs mentioned in the song by Max Gazzè
